This is year 4 of 5 annual renewal options.
Why: Maintaining the Centegix CrisisAlert system ensures uninterrupted emergency communication capabilities and builds on the current familiarity among staff. Transitioning to a new platform would require additional training, incur extra costs, and risk potential service disruption. Centegix remains a trusted, effective solution aligned with the district's commitment to safety and emergency preparedness.
Details: Centegix currently provides the CrisisAlert system, which is actively deployed district-wide across all schools and administrative buildings. The system allows staff to wear discreet panic alert badges that, when activated, instantly notify school leadership and/or law enforcement. It enables real-time location tracking, which significantly reduces emergency response times. Staff throughout the district have already been trained and are comfortable with the system's use, making it a seamless tool for day-to-day safety and emergency preparedness. Additionally, Centegix offers robust reporting tools that support compliance and help document incidents for safety audits. Over the past school year, the system has performed reliably and has received positive feedback from school-based staff and safety personnel.

This item supports the continuation of a Cooperative Purchasing (COOP) contract with Centegix (dba
34ED, LLC) for the CrisisAlert system, including annual fees, onsite maintenance, and support
services. These classifications support the procurement of security identification systems and
emergency response solutions.
Contract Renewal Term:
The DeKalb County Board of Education (“the Board”) previously approved this contract. This agenda
item requests approval to exercise the fourth (Year 4 of 5) renewal option, extending services
through August 2028.
Centegix provides an emergency alert system designed to enhance safety and improve response
times across all DeKalb County School District campuses. The CrisisAlert system has been fully
implemented and actively utilized throughout the 2024–2025 school year, with proven effectiveness
and successful districtwide integration.
Approval of this renewal will ensure the continued use of the CrisisAlert system across all schools and
administrative buildings. The system equips staff with discreet wearable panic alert badges that,
when activated, instantly notify school administrators and/or law enforcement. Additionally, the
system provides real-time location tracking, significantly reducing emergency response times.
District staff have already been trained and are proficient in the use of the system, making it a
seamless and reliable tool for daily operations and emergency preparedness.
Based on its effectiveness and established use, continued partnership with Centegix is recommended
for the 2026–2027 school year.
