               Lakeside High School Boys’ Cross Country Varsity Champions

WHEREAS:     The DeKalb County School District is dedicated to developing students academically and athletically.
             The Lakeside High School boys’ cross-country team is committed to working hard representing DeKalb
             athletics; and

WHEREAS:     The Lakeside High School boys’ cross-country team won the 2025 DeKalb County Cross Country
             Varsity Boys’ Championships title; and

WHEREAS:     Under the direction of coaches Drew Spires and Jim Bitsko, the Vikings scored 34 points to defeat
             defending champion Dunwoody claiming the championship title; and

WHEREAS:     Lakeside had four runners in the Top 10 finishers led by individual county champion senior Andrew
             Bitsko with a time of 16:33.50; and
THEREFORE:   We, the DeKalb County Board of Education, acknowledge the outstanding athletic accomplishments
             of the Lakeside High School boys’ cross-country team for having achieved one of the highest levels
             attainable by a high school cross-country team. In official recognition, we affix our signatures on this
             9th day of February 2026.
