Capital Improvement Program – Construction Update Report

1. New Dresden Elementary School

Project Number: 21836
Principal: Dr. Lauren Pells
Architect: BRPH
Contractor: Winter Construction
Scope: New 134,420 sq ft elementary school with 59 instructional units and 900-seat capacity
Construction Budget: $72,323,774
Project Timeline:

   •   Design Completion: March 2024
   •   Construction Start: June 2024
   •   Construction End: August 2027

Current Status:
Construction is actively underway with structural and sitework progressing.

4-Week Look Ahead:

   •   Steel erection began June 17, 2025.
   •   Masonry mock-up wall to be completed by June 27, 2025.
   •   Excavation and reinforcement for Retaining Wall A ongoing.
   •   Underground storm line (Line A) installation continues.
   •   Masonry subcontractor returned July 7, 2025, for CMU wall erection.
   •   Backfilling ongoing along basement foundation walls.
   •   Georgia Power granted Right of Entry on June 9, 2025, for utility installations.

2. Cross Keys High School

Project Number: 21435
Principal: Dr. B. Cunningham
Architect: Cooper Carry
Contractor: Evergreen Construction
Scope: 290,288 of new temporary classroom facilities, bus loop, building additions, and
renovation.
Construction Budget: $81,369,443 Phase 1
Project Timeline:

   •   Construction Start: June 2024
   •   Construction Completion: August 2028
Current Status:

   •   Water line pressure tests and chlorination mostly complete.
   •   Accessible ramps to modular classrooms nearly finished.
   •   Grading and backfill around the new bus loop area underway.

4-Week Look Ahead:

   •   Retaining wall construction and roadway preparation near the bus loop to begin.



3. New Sequoyah Middle & High School

Project Number: 10136
Principal: Tiffany Sims
Architect: GMC Architects
Contractor: Gilbane
Scope: 480,000 GSF of new construction of middle and high school campus
Construction Budget: $235,000,000
Project Timeline:

   •   Design Completion: January 2025
   •   Contractor Procurement: February 2025
   •   Construction Start: February 2025
   •   Construction End: August 2028

Current Status:

   •   Underground domestic and fire lines being installed.
   •   Erosion control measures nearly complete.
   •   Concrete pours ongoing for footings and slabs-on-grade.

4-Week Look Ahead:

   •   Complete aggregate piers.
   •   Begin excavation for shallow foundations.
   •   Continue concrete pours and begin steel erection.
