               RECOGNITION
                     Honoring Columbia High School Football Team


WHEREAS:     The DeKalb County School District is committed to fostering academic and athletic
             development in students; and

WHEREAS:     The Columbia High School Football Team has consistently demonstrated hard work,
             dedication, and pride in representing DeKalb County School District athletics; and

WHEREAS:     We celebrate the Columbia High School Football Team, led by Coach Greg Barnett, for
             winning the Region 6-2A football championship. This is the school’s first regional football title
             since 1981. The team finished the season on a four-game winning streak, claiming the region
             championship with an undefeated record in region play; and

WHEREAS:     Coach Greg Barnett, a Columbia High alumnus, has led the Eagles to four consecutive playoff
             appearances and a home playoff game in the first round of the Class 2A state playoffs; and

THEREFORE:   We, the DeKalb County Board of Education, hereby recognize and honor the Columbia High
             School Football Team for their outstanding athletic achievement, reaching one of the highest
             levels of success attainable by a high school football program. In official recognition, we affix
             our signatures on this 13th day of January 2025.
