August 8, 2024 audit committee meeting

                           AUDIT COMMITTEE MEETING
                                    OF THE
                       DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

                                        August 8, 2024

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its Audit Committee Meeting Thursday, August 8,
2024.

Mrs. Deirdre P. Pierce, Committee Chair convened the meeting at 1:02 p.m. and noted the
following were in attendance; Committee Vice Chair, Mrs. Anna Hill, Superintendent, Dr.
Devon Q. Horton, Mr. Byron Schueneman, and Mr. Elijah Palmer. Community Advisory
member, Ms. Gena Major, Board Attorney Ms. Melanie Slaton, and Board Members, Ms.
Allyson Gevertz and Ms. Whitney McGinniss joined the meeting virtually.

Also present was Ms. Carolyn Lloyd, Executive Director of Board Operations, and newly elected
Board Member, Mr. “Howard” Eyasu.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
Ms. Nicole Cook and Ms. Danielle Valentine, from the department of Internal Audits &
Compliance, Chief of Staff Division, presented the fleet audit findings for vehicle acquisition
and inventory.

Ms. Shalicia Evans and Ms. Charlene Fitzpatrick from IBEX IT Business Experts, LLC
presented the Human Resources Assessment findings and recommendations.

COMMENTS
Mrs. Pierce provided the date of the next audit committee meeting that will be held on
September 12, 2024 @ 1:00 pm.

ADJOURN
Mrs. Pierce adjourned the August 8, 2024, Audit Committee meeting at 2:42 p.m.
