Request: It is requested that the Board of Education amend Board Policy JCAC: Sexual Harassment of Students.
Why: Board Policy JCAC: Sexual Harassment of Students needs to be revised to align with the recently released 2024 Title IX Regulations.
Details: The proposed revisions to Board Policy JCAC: Sexual Harassment of Students are recommended to align with the current Title IX regulations.

Sexual Harassment of Students
The intent of this policy is to comply with the Title IX federal regula ons concerning sexual harassment. To
the extent that addi onal requirements are specified in federal law or regula ons, the District shall comply
with such requirements.
All students at the DeKalb County School District are en tled to learn in an environment free from sexual harassment
and all
other forms of discrimina on on the basis of
sex.
The district does not discriminate on the basis of sex and prohibits sex discrimina on in any educa on
program or ac vity that it operates, including in employment, as required by Title IX of the Educa onal
Amendments of 1972 and its implemen ng regula ons. This policy also prohibits sexual harassment or sex
discrimina on under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e, et seq.
