    March        Revised Foundation’s ByLaws for adoption by the School Board
    March        Submitted application for Incorporation with Georgia’s Secretary of State
    May          Adopted Foundation’s By Laws
    May          Created and adopted a Foundation Strategic Plan
    June         Received Employer Identification Number (EIN) from Georgia’ s Secretary of State
    July         Adopted Conflict of Interest Policy & Disclosure
    July         Completed and Submitted Federal Form 1023 ~ Application for Recognition of
                  Exemption
    December                (Application for Recognition of Exemption)
                            Under Section 501(c) (3) for Federal Tax-Exempt Status.
                            Process takes between 3 – 6 months from date of receipt by IRS


NEXT STEPS
   Complete and file Georgia application for Tax-Exemption
          Can only be submitted after receiving Federal Tax-Exempt Status
   Complete and file to register entity under Georgia Charitable Solicitation Act which is necessary if you are a
    charity which is the case of the Foundation. Filing is good for two (2) years.
   File annual tax returns

               FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT AND MANAGEMENT
                            COMMITTEE
           ✓ Establish policies and procedures for accepting funds received
           ✓ and disbursements made on behalf of the donor/contributor.

           ✓ Monitor and ensure that financial reporting reflect funds are
           correctly appropriated and monies properly expended from accounts
           associated with gifting and contributions.

           ✓ Ensure that good financial practices are being followed.

to provide information to the Board of their interest in partnering
with the Foundation (October 17, 2024)

◼   Signature Event ~ a festive event sponsored by the Foundation
for the School District to interact with parents, students, teachers
