                     DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

                                       August 1, 2024

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its virtual Board B-Policy Review Committee
Meeting, Thursday, August 1, 2024.

Mrs. Vickie B. Turner, Committee Chair convened the virtual meeting at 10:33 a.m. and noted
the following were in attendance; Ms. Allyson Gevertz, Mrs. Marissa Key, Ms. Carolyn Lloyd,
Ms. Noga Baruch, Ms. Melanie Slaton and Superintendent Dr. Devon Q. Horton. Board
Member, Mrs. Anna Hill also attended the virtual meeting. Ms. Whitney McGinniss joined the
meeting after the roster call.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
Mrs. Vicki B. Turner, Committee Chair, presented the review follow-up /action items from the
previous board b-policy committee meeting.

The committee reviewed the recommendations and updates for Board Policy BBFA: Local
School Councils, BBI: Board Staff Relations, and BC: Board Meetings.

Committee Chair, Mrs. Vickie B. Turner presented an introductory discussion of next policies
scheduled for review, BCBI: Public Participation in Board Meetings and BDC: Policy Adoption.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS | COMMENTS
Mrs. Turner provided the date of the next Board B-Policy Review committee meeting that will
be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 @ 11:00 a.m.

ADJOURN
Mrs. Turner adjourned the August 1, 2024, Board B-Policy Review Committee meeting at 12:18
p.m.
