DeKalb School of Arts HighLeit Choir

             P R O C L A M AT I O N
              RECOGNITION
                  Honoring DeKalb School of the Arts HighLeit Choir

WHEREAS:     The DeKalb County Board of Education believes music and art education are essential
             components of the educational system; and

WHEREAS:     Music and art education are part of a well-rounded education; and

WHEREAS:     Art and music develop students’ creative problem–solving and critical thinking abilities; and

WHEREAS:     The DeKalb School of the Art’s HighLeit Choir, under the musical direction of Mr. Jared
             Duncan, exemplifies excellence in music and art education. The choir represents the best and
             the brightest in our District. Their dedication, commitment, and stellar talent is a testament to
             the positive impact of quality music and art education in our schools. The HighLeit Choir was
             recently selected to represent the District in a performance before the prestigious Georgia
             Music Educators Association In-Service Conference in Athens, Georgia. This is an incredible
             accomplishment; and

WHEREAS:     The DeKalb County Board of Education is committed to supporting the continued development
             of this program and others to maintain and improve music and art programs for all students;
             and
THEREFORE:   We, the DeKalb County Board of Education, do hereby acknowledge and recognize the
             great accomplishment of the DeKalb School of The Arts HighLeit Choir for their outstanding
             achievements and commend the art and music educators for their efforts to enhance the quality
             of art and music education for all students. In official recognition whereof, we hereby affix our
