P R O C L A M AT I O N
RECOGNITION
Honoring The Southwest DeKalb High School Trombone Ensemble
WHEREAS: The DeKalb County Board of Education believes music and art education are essential
components of the educational system; and
WHEREAS: Music and art education are part of a well-rounded education; and
WHEREAS: Art and music develop students’ creative problem–solving and critical thinking abilities; and
WHEREAS: The Southwest DeKalb High School Trombone Ensemble, under the leadership of music
director Mr. James Seda, exemplifies excellence in music and art education. The ensemble
represents the best and the brightest in our District. Their dedication, commitment, and stellar
talent are a testament to the positive impact of quality music and art education in our schools.
The ensemble was recently selected to represent the District in a performance before the
prestigious Georgia Music Educators Association In-Service Conference in Athens, Georgia.
This is an incredible accomplishment; and
WHEREAS: The DeKalb County Board of Education is committed to supporting the continued development
of this program and others to maintain and improve music and art programs for all students;
and
THEREFORE: We, the DeKalb County Board of Education, do hereby acknowledge and recognize the
Southwest DeKalb High School Trombone Ensemble for their outstanding achievements, and
commend the art and music educators for their efforts to enhance the quality of art and music
education for all students. In official recognition whereof, we hereby affix our signatures, this
