June 28, 2023 called meeting and executive session

                      CALLED MEETING AND EXECUTIVE SESSION
                                     OF THE
                       DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

                                         June 28, 2023

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its Called Meeting and Executive Session,
Wednesday, June 28, 2023, in the J. David Williamson, Board Room at the DeKalb County
School District’s Robert R. Freeman Administrative Instructional Complex, 1701 Mountain
Industrial Boulevard, Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Mr. Diijon DaCosta, Sr., Chair convened the meeting at 1:33 p.m. and noted the following were
in attendance; Mr. Diijon DaCosta, Sr., Mrs. Deirdre P. Pierce, Mrs. Vickie B. Turner, Mrs.
Anna Hill, Ms. Allyson Gevertz, Mrs. Whitney McGinniss, and Dr. Vasanne S. Tinsley, Interim
Superintendent.

Also in attendance were General Counsel Attorney, Ms. Melanie Slaton. Dr. Yolanda
Williamson, Executive Administrator to the Board attended the executive session.


ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA
Mr. DaCosta, Sr. requested that the DeKalb County Board of Education adopt the June 28, 2023,
called meeting and executive session agenda.

There being no objection, the agenda was approved.

ADJOURN TO EXECUTIVE SESSION
Mr. DaCosta, Sr. called for a motion to adjourn June 28, 2023, called meeting to an executive
session for the purpose of discussing permitted matters regarding litigation, land, legal,
personnel, and student appeals.

On a motion by Mrs. Turner, seconded by Ms. Gevertz to adjourn to executive session, the June
28, 2023, called meeting adjourned to Executive Session with a vote of 6/0.


ADJOURN AFTER EXECUTIVE SESSION
Mr. DaCosta stated there would not be an action item and requested that the DeKalb County
Board of Education adjourn the June 28, 2023, called meeting after the conclusion of the
executive session.


The called meeting and executive session adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
