               1st BUDGET PRESENTATION & MILLAGE RATE HEARING
                                   OF THE
                      DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

                                         June 12, 2023

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its 1st Public Budget Presentation and Millage
Rate Hearing, Monday, June 12, 2023, in the J. David Williamson Board Room at the DeKalb
County School District’s Robert R. Freeman Administrative Instructional Complex, 1701
Mountain Industrial Boulevard, Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Mr. DaCosta, Sr., Board Chair convened the presentation at 10:34 a.m. and noted the following
were in attendance; Mrs. Deirdre Pierce, Mrs. Whitney McGinniss, Ms. Allyson Gevertz, Mrs.
Vickie Turner attended virtually and Interim Superintendent, Dr. Vasanne S. Tinsley.

Also in attendance were Dr. Yolanda Williamson, Executive Administrator to the Board, and
Ms. Melanie Slaton, General Counsel.

PURPOSE
The Board of Education conducted 1st budget presentation and millage rate hearing to give the
public an overview of the tentative budget for fiscal year 2024. The community was given an
opportunity to voice their opinion on the budget and millage rate.


1st BUDGET PRESENTATION FOR FISCAL YEAR
Mr. DaCosta, Sr. called for Mr. Byron Schueneman, Chief Financial Officer to start the budget
presentation.
